Tropical Storm Isaias hits Connecticut on 8/4/2020 bringing heavy wind, rain, and possible flash flooding with it. Isaias was first identified by the National Hurricane Center on July 23, 2020, and originated off a tropical wave off the coast of Africa. The tropical wave became more organized and formed into Tropical Storm Isaias on July 28, 2020. Isaias strengthened into a Category 1 hurricane with a peak intensity of 85 mph and made landfall on North Andros, Bahamas on August 1, 2020. At this point in time, Tropical Storm Isaias is making its way through the Northeast and will be coming through Eastern Connecticut on the evening of 8/4/2020. At this point in time, experts are predicting strong winds however less rain than originally expected due to the fact that the storm is shifting west. Also, be aware of a Tornado watch.
