Four Roof Myths Busted

Guaranteed-roofing-roofing-myths

There are many myths about roofing that forms misconceptions within the homeowner community. We’re here to unveil the truth about your roof. Our Connecticut roofing company discusses common misconceptions about roofing. Here are four roof myths busted

“My roof will last forever”

I don’t know what it is, but many people outside of our industry refuse to believe that their roof will need to be replaced. If you live in the same home long enough, you will need to replace your roof. Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever. That’s why it’s important to have a Connecticut roofing contractor inspect your roof regularly to give you updates on its lifespan.

“Roof replacements take a long time”

This is a very common myth. Most of our potential customers think that replacing their roof will take around a week to finish. Although in some cases this is true, particularly in commercial roofing, most of the roofs such as flat roofs take a day or two to replace.

“I can just replace the roof myself”

Although this may true if you’re an experienced roofer, if you’re a layperson with just basic handyman skills, do not attempt at replacing it yourself. Roofing itself is simple, but there are many nuances that only experienced roofers know. Trust us, you do not want to replace your roof incorrectly, then pay for it to be redone a second time!

“A repair will save me money”

This myth comes with a caveat. There certainly are times when just a repair is sufficient and is the best option for a homeowner. However, much of the time we find that homeowners make repair after repair and begin pushing back the inevitable. We suggest listening to the opinion of a reputable roofing contractor. A lot of the time, when your roof needs repairs, its lifespan is coming to an end.
